I live in
Borensberg, Sweden and have been retired for some years now. I live in my own house with
my wife. Our two girls left us and have made own families. They have produced three
grandchildren for us. Two girls and a boy.
I went to sea
early and worked a number of year in ships that mostly went to European ports but also the
occasional trip to North Africa.
After my year in the Royal Navy I went to America and Australia, after several trips
between the two continents I left the ships and stayed in Australia for seven year.
In 1959 I signed on an English ship in Port Adelaide and came back to Europe. I then
traveled back home in order to call on my parents, and I never got away again. Maybe just
as well.
Then came a time of different jobs, improving my education, marriage and children. For the
last 25 years of my professional life I worked for a company making roof tiles. It now
covers a big part of Sweden.
I became a beekeeper in 1981, and have now in my retirement about 50 beehives going. I
sell the honey, candles from the combs, and other products from the bees.
In the last few years, I have tried to remember and to write about some events from my
time as a "traveler". I shall put my stories on the web, maybe someone will
think it's fun to read them. Maybe someone from the "old days" still exists and
recognizes some of the stories, maybe even an old buddy.
In 1980 I became ill with cancer. After some surgery's and one chemo treatment I'm still
going, maybe not strong, but........
